The National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) provides structured apprenticeships in the private and public sectors in Trinidad and Tobago.  As an Apprenticeship Training Provider, your organisation will provide a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction through which apprentices can learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation.  Through NAP, your organisation can attract motivated job applicants and has the opportunity to prepare apprentices to meet your particular requirements.

The NAP is offered through the National Training Agency (NTA), with support from the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training (TEST).

What organisations can be Apprenticeship Training Providers?

Your organisation can register with the NAP to be an Apprenticeship Training Provider if it has been approved by the National Training Agency (NTA).  Please follow the "Registration of Apprenticeship Training Provider Form" link below or the link to the NTA's website for more information on obtaining NTA approval.

What is the application process?

Your organisation must complete a Registration of Apprenticeship Training Provider Form, which can be downloaded using the link below.  You may also pick up the form from the NTA office in Trinidad or Tobago.  An authorised representative of your organisation must bring the completed form to an NTA office along with proof of his or her identification in the form of a National Identification Card, Driver's Permit or Passport.  The representative must also have proof of authorisation to act on your organisation's behalf in the form of a letter, on company letterhead, signed by an executive.  Both NTA offices are open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, except public holidays.
